The NIFTY opened at 18873.30 with a gap up of 47 points. The index could not sustain at the higher levels and started drifting downwards from the opening tick. Prices recorded its intraday high at 18881.45 in its initial trades and moved lower by more than 150 points. The index recorded its intraday low at 18719.15 and formed a trading range. The NIFTY broke on the upside and saw some recovery towards the end of today’s trading session. The index finally closed at 18755.45 with a loss of 70.55 points or 0.35% down. MEDIA, REALTY, BANK, and AUTO underperformed today and led the bears by closing lower by more than half a percent. IT and PHARMA outperformed today and closed with gains. The index is trading near the current swing highs and also near the lifetime highs recorded at 18887.60. Support is now visible around 18650 while resistance may emerge around the lifetime high. We should look for buying only as far as the index is trading above the support levels. Traders should use the approach, “Buy on Dips and Consolidation Breakouts.”


The BANK NIFTY opened at 44015.30 with a gap up of 109 points. The index could not sustain at the higher levels and started drifting downwards from its opening tick. The index recorded its intraday high at 44040.35, saw a sharp fall, and recorded its intraday low at 43501.40. A minor recovery came towards the end and the index finally closed at 43644.05 with a loss of 262 points. PSU BANK outperformed today, saw a sharp intraday rally, and closed higher by 0.96 % PVT BANK underperformed today, saw a sharp intraday decline, and closed lower by 0.89%. Within the index, in terms of points, BANK BARODA contributed the highest on the upside while ICICI BANK contributed the lowest. On the daily timeframe, we have been tracking a trading range with support around 43400 and resistance around 44500. The index has been moving within the 1100 points range for the past six weeks.


PNB 51.95 BUY The stock is about to give a breakout on the intraday and the daily chart. The stock can be bought above 52.20 with a stop loss of 51.65 and a target of 53.30.
POWER GRID 243.10 SELL The stock has given a breakdown on the intraday as well as the daily chart. The stock can be sold below 242.00 with a stop loss of 244.45 and a target of 237.05.

  • Benchmark indices ended lower with Nifty around 18,750 in the volatile session on June 19. At close, the Sensex was down 216.28 points or 0.34percentat 63,168.30, and the Nifty was down 70.50 points or 0.37percentat 18,755.50. About 1,623 shares advanced, 1,937 shares declined, and 163 shares were unchanged.

  • India plans to cut fertiliser subsidy to Rs 1 lakh crore each in FY25 and FY26 after implementing the PM PRANAM scheme and the liberalised Market Development Assistance scheme, which the Union Cabinet is likely to approve this week, a government official said.
