Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has launched the Swayamgati, the world’s first production-ready autonomous electric three-wheeler, targeting urban congestion and last-mile transit challenges. The passenger variant is priced at ₹4 lakh, while the cargo version is available at ₹4.14 lakh.
Swayamgati combines OSM’s electric vehicle platform with an AI-driven autonomous retrofit system, offering intelligent, seamless transport for airports, smart campuses, industrial parks, gated communities, and dense urban environments.
Global and Indian Context
Autonomous electric vehicles (AEVs) are emerging as a transformative force in mobility. According to a 2025 McKinsey report, the global autonomous vehicle market is expected to exceed $620 billion by 2030, with shared and low-speed autonomous mobility solutions forming a significant portion.
In India, growing urban congestion and last-mile transport challenges create opportunities for safe, cost-effective, and efficient mobility solutions in structured or semi-controlled environments.
Product Highlights
- Swayamgati is the first Indian autonomous product to capitalize on this trend at scale.
- Features AI, Lidar, and autonomous navigation technology tailored for India’s roads.
- Successfully completed Phase 1 testing, covering a 3-km autonomous route with seven stops, real-time obstacle detection, and safe passenger movement without human intervention.
- Phase 2 now begins with commercial rollout in controlled environments.
Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of OSM, said:
“The launch of Swayamgati is not just a product introduction; it’s a bold step into the future of Indian transportation. Autonomous vehicles are no longer a futuristic concept—they are a present-day necessity for sustainable and scalable mobility.”
Vivek Dhawan, Chief Strategy Officer, added:
“Autonomous EVs will redefine how India moves in cities, campuses, and industrial zones, and we are proud to be at the forefront of that transformation.”
India-Focused Design
Unlike autonomous vehicles developed for premium global markets, Swayamgati is engineered for Indian conditions, including high-density, low-speed traffic, and diverse terrains. OSM emphasizes that the vehicle is accessible, affordable, and fully made in India, demonstrating that cutting-edge EV and AI technology can be locally developed.
Summary
Omega Seiki Mobility’s Swayamgati marks a milestone in India’s EV and autonomous mobility sector, offering a scalable, affordable solution for urban congestion and last-mile transit. With successful testing completed and a commercial rollout underway, the startup aims to lead India in autonomous electric mobility while setting global benchmarks.
