CRISIL, a leading global analytics and ratings firm, has announced the acquisition of McKinsey PriceMetrix Co., a Canadian wealth management software provider, for USD 38 million (approximately ₹335 crore). The deal, executed through CRISIL’s subsidiary Crisil Canada Inc., is expected to close within 180 days.

About the Acquisition

Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Toronto, PriceMetrix offers advanced benchmarking and analytics solutions for wealth management firms. The company maintains a proprietary database covering $8 trillion in assets across 30 million investment accounts, supporting pricing intelligence, practice management, and performance benchmarking for clients in Canada and the US.

Financially, PriceMetrix reported ₹94.2 crore in revenue and a profit after tax of ₹21.5 crore in FY25, reflecting steady growth from ₹81.5 crore in 2022 and ₹89.9 crore in 2023.

Strategic Significance

The acquisition is part of CRISIL’s strategy to strengthen its global wealth management analytics capabilities. PriceMetrix will be integrated with Crisil Coalition Greenwich (CCG), enhancing CRISIL’s offerings across the wealth management value chain.

Transaction and Integration

The acquisition will be facilitated by Crisil Canada Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Crisil Irevna UK Limited, which will invest up to USD 38.5 million to cover the acquisition and related expenses. Following completion, PriceMetrix employees will transition to CRISIL, while McKinsey will continue leveraging PriceMetrix insights for its client engagements.

Additional Board Appointment

Separately, CRISIL has appointed Dinesh Khara as an Independent Director for a five-year term, effective September 24, 2025, subject to shareholder approval. Mr. Khara, a veteran banker, previously served as Chairman of the State Bank of India from 2020 to 2024.
