Key investors include BrahMos Aerospace, Adani Defence Systems and Technologies, Bharat Dynamics, Global Engineers, Ancor Research Labs, NextStrat Tech Vision, and Adhunik Material and Sciences.

Key Facilities and Operations

  • BrahMos Aerospace in Lucknow, a JV between DRDO and Russia’s NPOM, focuses on supersonic missile development.
  • Adani Defence has started operations at a ₹1,500 crore ammunition plant in Kanpur.
  • In Aligarh, Amitec Electronics invested ₹330 crore to manufacture electronic warfare systems and satellite technology.
  • Aerolloy Technologies in Lucknow began titanium casting for advanced missile systems with a ₹320 crore investment.

Strategic Objectives

Launched in 2018, UPDIC aims to reduce India’s reliance on defence imports, build local manufacturing capabilities, and foster self-reliance in defence production. The project has already attracted major global and domestic players, creating advanced manufacturing ecosystems across the six nodes.

Government Support

At the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the state’s growing role in strengthening India’s defence manufacturing capabilities and encouraged further investments to consolidate the corridor as a hub for strategic industries.
