Synopsis: Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd has bagged a ₹86.85 crore contract from Ultratech Cement for the supply of BCFC wagons and a brake van. This comes shortly after winning a ₹129.09 crore order from RVNL earlier this month.

Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd on Thursday announced that it has received a fresh order worth ₹86.85 crore from Ultratech Cement Ltd.

The contract involves the supply of BCFC wagons along with a brake van, with delivery scheduled to be completed by March 2026, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Consecutive Order Wins

The order follows closely on the heels of another major contract win. On September 12, Texmaco disclosed it had secured a ₹129.09 crore project from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL), which includes the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 2×25 KV traction overhead equipment and associated works in the Yavatmal–Digras section of the Nagpur division under Central Railways. That project is slated for completion within 18 months from commencement.

First Quarter Performance

Despite the recent order inflows, Texmaco Rail’s financial performance for the June quarter was subdued. The company reported a 49.8% year-on-year decline in net profit at ₹30 crore, compared with ₹59.8 crore in the same period last year.

Revenue fell 16.3% to ₹910.6 crore, while EBITDA dropped 33.5% to ₹71.2 crore. Operating margins narrowed to 7.8%, down from 9.8% in the corresponding quarter of FY25.

Strengthening Order Book

The back-to-back contracts from Ultratech Cement and RVNL are expected to strengthen Texmaco Rail’s order book and provide momentum in the coming quarters, offsetting some of the pressure from weaker financial results.
