Urban Company’s quick-service offering, InstaHelp, has achieved a key operational milestone by crossing 1 million monthly bookings in March, according to recent exchange disclosures. The achievement highlights the rapid adoption of on-demand household services and reflects growing consumer preference for instant home assistance.

Strong Early-Stage Growth

Launched less than a year ago, InstaHelp was introduced to deliver quick and reliable housekeeping solutions. The service provides assistance for daily household tasks such as cleaning, dishwashing, laundry, and basic meal preparation.

The platform has witnessed steady traction in a short span. In February, InstaHelp registered between 840,000 and 850,000 orders, indicating strong momentum that continued into March. On February 22, the platform also recorded a peak of 51,520 bookings in a single day, demonstrating rising demand for rapid-response home services.

Urban Company’s CEO, Abhiraj Singh Bhal, noted that the growth reflects increasing consumer reliance on the platform for everyday household needs.

Rising Competition in Quick Home Services

The strong performance of InstaHelp comes amid growing competition in the instant housekeeping segment. Several emerging platforms are scaling rapidly to capture market share.

For instance, Snabbit reported approximately 830,000 orders in February, up from about 500,000 orders in December. Another player, Pronto, has expanded quickly since launch, reaching more than 15,000 daily bookings within around ten months of operations.

The expanding ecosystem indicates rising demand for hyperlocal, on-demand home services across urban markets.

Financial Performance and Cost Dynamics

Despite the rapid growth in bookings, the quick-service vertical has also increased operational costs. InstaHelp’s EBITDA loss widened to ₹61 crore in the December quarter of FY26, compared with ₹44 crore in the previous quarter.

However, Urban Company overall reported strong financial momentum, with operating revenue rising 33% year-on-year to ₹383 crore. The growth was supported by festive season demand and an expanding user base.

Investor Interest in the Segment

The surge in consumer demand has also attracted significant investor attention to the instant home services sector. Reports indicate that Snabbit is currently in discussions to raise $50–60 million in a new funding round led by Mirae Asset Venture Investments and Bertelsmann India Investments.

Similarly, Pronto recently secured $25 million in funding, valuing the company at around $100 million. These developments underline the growing confidence of investors in the scalability of the on-demand household services market.
