UNO Minda Limited has announced a series of strategic decisions aimed at strengthening its footprint in the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. The company is taking full ownership of an existing joint venture while also committing fresh capital to support growth in its EV-focused subsidiary.
Complete Acquisition of JV Stake
The company’s board has approved the purchase of Buehler Motor GmbH’s 49.90% equity stake in UNO Minda Buehler Motor Private Limited. This transaction, valued at ₹10.64 lakh, will make the venture a fully owned subsidiary of UNO Minda Limited.
Alongside the acquisition, UNO Minda will discontinue its joint venture agreement with Buehler Motor GmbH, thereby gaining complete operational control of the business.
Investment in EV-Focused Subsidiary
Separately, the board has approved an investment of up to ₹40 crore in UNO Minda EV Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary. The capital infusion will be directed toward meeting working capital needs as the subsidiary scales up production of EV components, particularly for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
