Tejas Networks Limited has commenced the shipment of its industry-leading IP-MPLS routers and management systems for the Madhya Pradesh, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, and Uttarakhand packages under the BharatNet Phase III project. In collaboration with Nagarjuna Construction Company (NCC), Tejas Networks will upgrade the existing middle-mile broadband infrastructure from a linear to a ring topology, covering 30,841 Gram Panchayats (GPs) and 411 Block locations.

Enhancing Rural Connectivity Through Advanced Technology

The deployment of IP-MPLS technology is expected to significantly improve network resilience and efficiency. By transitioning from linear to ring topology, the upgraded infrastructure will support higher bandwidth and better fault tolerance, ensuring seamless and reliable digital connectivity for rural communities. This step is crucial for delivering consistent broadband services, enabling applications such as online education, telemedicine, and e-governance in remote areas.

The upgraded infrastructure will also serve as a national digital asset, available to all eligible service providers on a non-discriminatory basis, promoting competition and inclusive growth. With this initiative, BharatNet Phase III aims to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural India, empowering communities with access to high-speed broadband and associated digital services.

BharatNet: Driving Inclusive Digital Growth

Funded under the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN), BharatNet is a flagship program of the Government of India that seeks to connect every village in the country with high-speed internet. The program’s objective is to enable equitable digital access and foster socio-economic development in rural areas, supporting initiatives across education, healthcare, governance, and entrepreneurship.

Industry Endorsement

Manoj Penmetcha, Director (Projects) at NCC, said, “The creation of a robust, reliable, and scalable middle-mile network for BharatNet is critical to ensuring high-quality broadband to every rural citizen. As India’s premier R&D and IPR-driven telecom product company, Tejas Networks is the ideal technology partner for this project.”

Through this deployment, Tejas Networks continues to strengthen its position as a leading provider of mission-critical telecom solutions in India, supporting the nation’s digital inclusion goals while driving technological innovation.
