Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence Ltd, has formed a new entity — Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Ltd (REIL) — in partnership with Meta Platforms’ subsidiary, Facebook Overseas Inc. The joint venture aims to deliver enterprise-grade AI services to help businesses accelerate digital transformation through advanced artificial intelligence and data-driven technologies.
Strategic Partnership to Advance AI Adoption
According to RIL’s regulatory filing, REIL was incorporated in India on October 24, 2025, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Intelligence. Under a revised joint venture agreement with Facebook Overseas Inc., REIL will soon operate as a Reliance–Meta partnership, combining the technological strength of both organizations.
The venture will focus on developing and deploying AI-powered enterprise solutions, including automation, analytics, and digital infrastructure tools designed to enhance operational efficiency across industries such as retail, telecom, manufacturing, and financial services.
Investment and Ownership Structure
The joint venture is backed by a combined initial investment of ₹855 crore, reflecting both companies’ long-term commitment to the enterprise AI ecosystem.
- Reliance Intelligence will hold a 70% stake in REIL.
- Facebook Overseas Inc., a subsidiary of Meta Platforms, will own the remaining 30%.
Reliance Intelligence has already invested ₹2 crore for the initial subscription of 20 lakh equity shares valued at ₹10 each. The partnership is expected to leverage Reliance’s extensive digital infrastructure and Meta’s global AI and data capabilities to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative enterprise solutions.
Regulatory and Transactional Clarity
RIL clarified that the formation of REIL does not constitute a related party transaction and that no promoter or group company has any direct interest in the entity. Moreover, the incorporation of the joint venture did not require any specific government or regulatory approvals.
Reliance Intelligence received formal confirmation of REIL’s incorporation at 1:19 p.m. (IST) on October 24, 2025.
