Oriana Power has strengthened its presence in the clean energy space through a long-term green ammonia offtake agreement, marking a key step in its expansion into next-generation fuel solutions. The development aligns with India’s broader push toward green hydrogen and sustainable energy adoption.

Long-Term Agreement Ensures Revenue Visibility

The company’s subsidiary has entered into a Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply 60,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually.

The agreement is priced at ₹52.25 per kg, translating into a total contract value of approximately ₹3,135 crore over a 10-year period. This long-term arrangement provides strong revenue visibility and reduces demand uncertainty, which is particularly important in emerging sectors such as green hydrogen and its derivatives.

The defined offtake structure enhances project bankability and supports financial stability, enabling the company to plan capacity and investments with greater certainty.

Project Development and Execution

The green ammonia project will be developed in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, with Oriana Power responsible for end-to-end execution. This includes project development, regulatory approvals, and land acquisition processes.

The project was previously awarded under a government-backed initiative aimed at accelerating green hydrogen adoption in India. By securing both execution rights and a committed buyer, the company is well-positioned to streamline project implementation and scale operations efficiently.

Expanding Presence in Green Hydrogen Ecosystem

This agreement marks Oriana Power’s strategic entry into the green ammonia segment, a critical derivative of green hydrogen. Green ammonia is expected to play a vital role in industries such as fertilisers, where reducing reliance on fossil-based inputs is a key priority.

The move supports India’s broader objectives of enhancing energy security, promoting domestic production of clean fuels, and reducing carbon emissions.

Strategic Outlook

Long-term offtake agreements such as this are essential for driving investment in green energy infrastructure. By securing assured demand and stable pricing, Oriana Power is strengthening its position in the evolving green fuels market and aligning its growth strategy with future energy trends.

Summary

Oriana Power has signed a ₹3,135 crore green ammonia offtake agreement with SECI for the supply of 60,000 tonnes annually over 10 years. The project, to be developed in Madhya Pradesh, ensures long-term revenue visibility and marks the company’s expansion into the green hydrogen ecosystem, supporting India’s clean energy transition.
