NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has announced the successful commissioning of another 100 MW capacity at its joint venture project, IRCON Renewable Power Ltd (IRPL). With this milestone, the project has now achieved a cumulative operational capacity of 400 MW out of the planned 500 MW.

The newly commissioned lot, referred to as Lot-6, was declared commercially operational from 00:00 hours on September 17, 2025.

IRCON Renewable Power is a strategic partnership, with NTPC Green Energy holding a 50% stake through its joint venture ONGC NTPC Green, while Ayana Renewable Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC, owns 24%.

With the latest addition, the total commercial capacity of NTPC Green Energy Group now stands at 7,272.575 MW, while its installed capacity has risen to 7,372.575 MW. This expansion further consolidates NGEL’s position as a key player in India’s renewable energy landscape, underlining its commitment to clean and sustainable power generation.

The development marks yet another step forward in NTPC’s broader vision to scale up renewable energy capacity and support India’s transition towards a greener energy mix.
