Market-View-Feature-Image

View on market: Volatility persists, eagerly searching for growth

Global markets turned cautious as renewed trade tensions resurfaced following fresh tariff announcements by U.S. President Donald Trump. U.S. and European futures edged lower, reflecting investor unease. Indian equity markets broke a four-month winning streak, closing lower amid heightened uncertainty and foreign fund outflows. Asian markets extended their decline for a sixth straight session, marking the longest losing streak this year. The sell-off was driven by geopolitical concerns and muted reaction to strong earnings from major technology firms. Key regional indices showed mixed performance, with some resilience in specific segments, but overall sentiment remained subdued. On Wall Street, a previous rally lost steam as investors weighed the looming tariff deadline and a call from the White House for drugmakers to reduce prices. The major U.S. indices closed mixed, with one benchmark erasing earlier gains. Treasury yields fluctuated in anticipation of upcoming employment data, while the dollar posted its strongest monthly performance of the year.
