Furniture and home-furnishing retailer IKEA India reported a 6% year-on-year increase in sales, with annual revenue reaching ₹1,860.8 crore for the financial year ended August 2025.

The company’s Swedish parent, Ingka Group, which follows a September–August financial cycle, announced global revenues of €41.5 billion, marking a marginal decline of 0.9% from the previous year.

Operational Highlights

IKEA India’s EBITDA (excluding fixed costs) improved by 12%, supported by robust online growth and expansion into new markets. Online sales surged 34%, driven by new-format stores and e-commerce launches across Delhi and Bengaluru.

During the year, IKEA India recorded 110 million customer visits across its physical stores and online channels. The IKEA for Business segment contributed 19% of total sales, growing 20% year-on-year, while food sales accounted for around 10% of total revenue.

Expansion and Product Focus

In FY25, the retailer entered North India with online deliveries and launched a city store in West Delhi along with a Plan and Order Point in Bengaluru. IKEA continues to focus on affordability, offering over 6,500 home-furnishing products, including 50+ furniture items under ₹1,000 and 750+ décor products under ₹200.

Food remains a major attraction, with 2.2 million food tickets sold in FY25. IKEA served nearly 1 million dine-in visitors at its in-store restaurants, with its signature chicken meatballs remaining the top seller. The company has also localized its menu, introducing items such as vada pav in Mumbai, bisibele bhath in Bengaluru, and biryani in Hyderabad.

Future Outlook

IKEA India aims to achieve profitability within the next two years, according to CEO Patrik Antoni. The company sees strong potential in India’s growing home-furnishing market, projected to reach USD 48 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 8.7%.

Current Presence

Since starting retail operations in 2018, IKEA India has established three large-format stores (Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru), two city stores (Worli and West Delhi), one Plan and Order Point (Bengaluru), and two distribution centres (Pune and Gurugram).
