Brief:
Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd. (GOLIL) has asked shareholders holding physical shares to update their KYC details without delay, in compliance with SEBI’s March 2023 circular. Investors who fail to submit the required documents will face restrictions on services and payout processing until their records are updated.

SEBI Compliance Mandate

On September 3, 2025, GOLIL issued a notice to physical shareholders reminding them to update their Know Your Customer (KYC) details through its registrar and transfer agent, KFin Technologies Ltd. The move aligns with SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations, 2015, and the circular issued by the regulator on March 16, 2023.

Effective September 2, 2025, services to non-compliant investors—including grievance redressal—will only be available once KYC formalities are completed.

Impact on Payments

According to the company, dividends, interest, and redemption proceeds will be released only to shareholders whose KYC details are fully updated. Additionally, in line with SEBI’s directive effective April 1, 2024, all such payouts are being processed exclusively via electronic transfer, eliminating physical payment modes.

Forms and Documentation

To update their records, shareholders must:

  • Submit Form ISR-1 with self-attested documents.
  • Provide Form ISR-2, duly attested by a banker, along with either an original cancelled cheque with the shareholder’s name or a self-attested bank statement/passbook.
  • Use Form SH-13 for nomination updates.

Submission Process

Investors can submit the required forms either in hard copy, electronically, or directly via the KFin Technologies portal, where SEBI’s circulars and all relevant documents are also available.

Gulf Oil Lubricants stressed that this notification is a formal compliance requirement under SEBI’s March 2023 circular and not just an advisory, urging investors to act promptly to avoid restrictions.
