• Benchmark indices ended higher for the second consecutive session on October 6 with Nifty around 19,650. At close, the Sensex was up 364.06 points or 0.55 percent at 65,995.63, and the Nifty was up 107.70 points or 0.55 percent at 19,653.50. About 2229 shares advanced, 1291 shares declined, and 156 shares unchanged.

• Tata Consultancy Services will consider buyback of equity shares. TCS board will meet on October 11, 2023 to consider the decision, the company said in a statement. Ahead of the buyback announcement, TCS shares ended nearly 1 percent higher at Rs 3,621.25 on NSE.

• JSW Group is actively pursuing a stake acquisition in MG Motor India with an aim to launch an electric car specifically tailored for the Indian market. MG Motor India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Shanghai-based SAIC Motor. An official announcement regarding this deal is likely to be made by Diwali, sources familiar with the matter told CNBC-TV18.
