Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd (CGCEL) has announced that it has won an order worth ₹51.59 crore for the supply of solar rooftop systems to households in Telangana.

Under the project scope, the company will supply inverters, AC and DC distribution boxes (ACDB & DCDB), and solar modules, strengthening its footprint in India’s growing renewable energy sector.

About the Company

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals is a leading Indian consumer electrical company with a legacy of over 75 years. The firm operates across two key business segments — Lighting and Electrical Consumer Durables — and markets its products under the Crompton brand in India and select export markets.

In Q1 FY26, the company reported a 19.4% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹122.29 crore, while revenue from operations fell 6.5% to ₹1,998.34 crore compared with Q1 FY25.

Summary

Crompton Greaves’ latest ₹52-crore solar rooftop project win in Telangana marks another step in its diversification into sustainable energy solutions. Despite a softer quarterly performance, the order strengthens the company’s presence in the renewable segment and supports its long-term growth strategy beyond core consumer electricals.
