British Airways has announced further expansion plans for its India operations as travel demand between India and the United Kingdom continues to rise. With a history of over a century in the country, the airline already operates 56 flights per week connecting major Indian metros to London. Its current schedule includes three daily flights from Mumbai, two from New Delhi, and daily services from Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

Strengthening Workforce and Local Presence

In addition to increasing capacity, British Airways is also broadening its on-ground operations in India. The airline maintains crew bases in every Indian city it serves and continues to expand its customer service infrastructure. Its customer support hub, CallBA in Gurugram, employs nearly 2,000 professionals providing multilingual assistance to passengers across regions including the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific. These facilities form a critical part of British Airways’ global support network.

Strategic Partnerships Enhancing Connectivity

The airline is also deepening its partnerships to strengthen market reach. Through its codeshare agreement with IndiGo and a joint business arrangement with Qatar Airways, British Airways offers customers access to 148 weekly one-way flights to 13 Indian destinations, significantly improving last-mile connectivity and travel flexibility.

Recent customer-focused enhancements, such as the Meet and Assist service introduced in March 2025, further reinforce the carrier’s commitment to improving the passenger experience.

Summary

British Airways is expanding its services in India, adding capacity, scaling its workforce, and strengthening partnerships to meet growing travel demand. With 56 weekly flights, strong hiring, and enhanced services, the airline aims to support India’s ascent as a global aviation hub while deepening connectivity between India and the UK.
