BLS International has announced that it has won a three-year contract from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to establish and manage Indian Visa Application Centers (IVACs) in China.

Contract Details

  • The company will operate IVACs in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, providing secure, streamlined, and customer-friendly visa services.
  • Financial terms of the contract have not been disclosed.

BLS International described the award as a significant milestone, noting that the IVACs will play a key role in facilitating reliable and user-centric visa services for Indian missions abroad.

Context and Implications

Interestingly, the contract comes just two days after the MEA had barred BLS International for a two-year period from participating in any new Indian Mission tenders. Despite this, the company stated that the award would not impact ongoing operations.

During the June quarter, Indian Missions accounted for approximately 12% of BLS International’s consolidated revenue and 8% of its EBITDA, highlighting the strategic importance of this business segment.

Outlook

This new contract underscores BLS International’s continued relevance in the global visa services market and its ability to secure strategic deals even amid regulatory challenges. The company’s operations in China are expected to strengthen its international footprint and service capabilities, further consolidating its position as a leading provider of visa and consular services.
