The joint venture has been awarded the project at a total contract value of ₹1,815.79 crore.

Overview of the BMC Project

The “Mithi River Development and Pollution Control Project (Package III)” encompasses comprehensive river management and infrastructure works. The project includes dry weather flow interception at tidal outfalls, construction of a transfer sewer, river training, development of a service road, retaining wall construction, and associated civil works. Additionally, the scope covers the operation and maintenance of the river stretch from CST Bridge in Kurla to Mahim Causeway, including the Vakola River, for a period of 10 years. The project follows a design, build, and operate (DBO) model, ensuring long-term accountability for both construction and operational performance.

Joint Venture Structure and Responsibilities

The project is being executed by a joint venture led by Adani Road Transport Limited, holding a 51% stake. Ashoka Buildcon Limited has a 26% stake, while Aakshaya Infra Projects Private Limited holds the remaining 23%. This collaboration combines the engineering and construction expertise of Ashoka Buildcon with Adani Road Transport’s infrastructure management capabilities and Aakshaya Infra’s specialized project experience, ensuring efficient project execution and sustainable operational outcomes.

Contract Terms and Timeline

The awarded contract, valued at ₹1,815.79 crore excluding GST, is expected to be completed over a period of 48 months, excluding monsoon delays, followed by a decade-long operation and maintenance phase. The BMC has structured the project under a DBO framework, highlighting a long-term commitment to river management and pollution mitigation. In compliance with regulatory requirements, the trading window for designated persons of Ashoka Buildcon and their immediate relatives will remain closed until 48 hours after the disclosure of this award.
