Adani Solar, the solar manufacturing arm of Adani Green Energy Ltd, has achieved a major production and export milestone by shipping over 15,000 megawatts (MW) of solar modules to both domestic and global markets — becoming the first and fastest Indian company to reach this benchmark.
Of the total, 10,000 MW were supplied within India and 5,000 MW were exported overseas — equivalent to nearly 28 million solar panels spanning 7,500 football fields in area coverage.
Driving the ‘Make in India’ Vision
Adani Solar stated that 70% of these modules were manufactured using in-house solar cells, underscoring its commitment to the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. The company plans to expand its production capacity from 4,000 MW to 10,000 MW by the next financial year, with an aim to ship another 15,000 MW of solar modules in the near term.
Global Recognition and Industry Outlook
According to Wood Mackenzie, Adani Solar is the only Indian firm ranked among the world’s top 10 solar module manufacturers. The research report also projects that India’s solar module capacity will surpass 125 GW by 2025, more than three times the current domestic requirement.
Expanding Network and Green Impact
With a network of over 550 district outlets and 35 exclusive partners, Adani Solar operates India’s largest solar distribution ecosystem. Its initiatives have so far powered around 5 million homes, generated 2,500 green jobs, and helped avoid 60 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
Advancing India’s Solar Mission
Adani Solar has also emerged as a leading supplier in the rooftop solar space, delivering 1.78 GW of modules in the past year. The company contributed 54% of the modules installed under the Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the Government of India’s flagship scheme aimed at providing solar power to 10 million homes by 2027.
Summary:
Adani Solar’s achievement of shipping 15,000 MW of solar modules marks a pivotal milestone for India’s renewable energy sector. With plans to scale capacity, strengthen local manufacturing, and support national solar programs, the company continues to play a central role in advancing India’s clean energy transition.
