The Adani Group is reportedly gearing up for a multi-billion-dollar investment in Google’s upcoming artificial intelligence data centre ecosystem in India. As per reports, the investment—estimated at up to $5 billion—will be channelled through Adani Connex, the conglomerate’s data centre joint venture with EdgeConneX. The move signals one of Adani’s most significant strides into the rapidly growing digital and AI infrastructure space.

Project Blueprint and Implementation
The plan is expected to commence with the development of a 1-gigawatt AI-ready data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This facility will be tailored to support high-density compute workloads critical for training and deploying advanced AI models.
Adani Connex will take the lead on planning, infrastructure build-out and operational strategy. Adani Group CFO Jugeshinder Singh has indicated that conversations around the investment structure have already begun, acknowledging the strategic importance and accelerating value of AI infrastructure in India.
