The Uttar Pradesh government is promoting dairy entrepreneurship through the Mini Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, launched under the Nand Baba Milk Mission. The scheme offers financial assistance to eligible farmers and entrepreneurs who wish to establish small dairy units using indigenous cow breeds.
With a subsidy of up to ₹11.80 lakh, the initiative aims to increase milk production, promote native cattle breeds, and generate sustainable income opportunities for rural households.
Subsidy, Project Cost and Funding Pattern
Under the scheme, the estimated cost of setting up a 10-cow dairy unit has been fixed at ₹23.60 lakh.
The funding structure is as follows:

- Beneficiary contribution: 15% of the project cost
- Bank loan: Remaining 35% of the project cost
The subsidy will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system in two instalments.
