Latest Updates

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a marginal increase in the FASTag Annual Pass fee for the financial year 2026–27. Starting April 1, 2026, users will be required to pay ₹3,075 instead of the existing ₹3,000. The revision follows the guidelines outlined under the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.

Who Will Be Affected?

The updated annual fee will be applicable to non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans that are equipped with an active FASTag. This facility is currently being used by over 5.6 million vehicle owners across India, reflecting its growing popularity among frequent highway travelers.

The annual pass remains valid across approximately 1,150 toll plazas located on National Highways and Expressways, making it a convenient option for regular commuters.

How the FASTag Annual Pass Works

The FASTag Annual Pass is designed to simplify toll payments by offering a one-time payment option. Instead of recharging FASTag frequently, users can opt for this pass, which provides either:

  • Validity for one year, or
  • Up to 200 toll crossings

whichever is reached earlier.

Once either of these limits is exhausted, the FASTag automatically switches back to the standard pay-per-use model.

Activation Process

Users can purchase the annual pass through the Rajmarg Yatra mobile application or via the official NHAI website. After completing the payment, the pass is typically activated on the registered FASTag within a couple of hours, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience.

Growing Adoption Since Launch

Launched on August 15, 2025, the FASTag Annual Pass has seen strong adoption nationwide. Its cost-effectiveness and convenience have made it a preferred choice for individuals who frequently travel on highways.

What Happens After 200 Trips?

If a user reaches the 200-trip limit before completing one year, they can choose to buy a new annual pass. Otherwise, toll charges will continue under the regular FASTag system until a new pass is activated.
