Latest Updates

State-run mining company MOIL Limited has revised the prices of several grades of manganese ore for March 2026 as part of its pricing adjustments for the January–March quarter. The updated rates came into effect on March 1, 2026, and apply to multiple categories of manganese ore supplied by the company.

Price Hike for Key Ore Grades

According to the company’s announcement, prices of ferro-grade manganese ore containing 44% manganese and above have been increased by 2% for March. Ferro-grade ores with manganese content below 44% have also witnessed a similar 2% rise compared to February levels.

In addition, the price of SMGR (Mn-30%) grade manganese ore has been raised by 2% for the month. Chemical-grade manganese ore has also seen a 2% increase, reflecting a broad-based adjustment across several major product categories.

Some Grades Remain Unchanged

Despite the revisions, MOIL has kept the prices of certain grades unchanged. The SMGR (Mn-25%) grade and manganese ore fines will continue to be sold at the same rates that prevailed in February.

Similarly, other categories such as SMGR (Mn-20%)—excluding the BGL509 grade—and select metal mandi fines will also retain their existing price levels during March.

Steeper Increase for a Specific Grade

While most price revisions are modest, MOIL has implemented a sharper hike for the UKF532 grade. The price of this particular grade has been increased by 10% for March, significantly higher than the adjustments made for other categories.

The periodic price revisions by MOIL are closely watched by the steel and alloy industries, as manganese ore is a key raw material used in steel production and other metallurgical processes.

Summary

MOIL Limited has increased prices of several manganese ore grades by 2% for March 2026, including ferro-grade ores, SMGR (Mn-30%), and chemical-grade manganese ore. However, prices for SMGR (Mn-25%), certain fines, and some other categories remain unchanged. The UKF532 grade has seen a sharper price increase of 10% for the month.
