View on market: Volatility persists, eagerly searching for growth:
Global markets showed mixed signals amid light holiday trading and continued concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence on businesses. In the US, futures for the S&P were slightly lower, while European futures were largely unchanged. On Wall Street, trading was volatile at the start of the shortened week. The broader market index ended marginally higher, technology shares slipped slightly, and the Dow finished flat as investors remained cautious about how artificial intelligence could affect corporate earnings across industries. In Asia, markets moved higher despite thin trading volumes due to the Lunar New Year holidays. Several major regional markets, including China and Hong Kong, remained closed. Japanese shares gained, helping lift the broader Asia Pacific index, while Australian markets edged slightly lower. In India, benchmark indices extended their gains for a second straight session, supported by strength in major companies such as Infosys and Larsen & Toubro. However, broader markets underperformed as some mid-sized stocks saw notable declines. Overall sentiment remained cautiously positive.
