NTPC Green Energy Limited has announced the commencement of commercial operations for an additional 243.66 MW capacity at its Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat. The seventh part capacity of the project was declared commercially operational from 00:00 hours on December 17, 2025, according to official disclosures.
The project is being implemented under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II Tranche-III by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited.
Khavda-I Solar Project Details
The Khavda-I Solar PV Project has an envisaged total capacity of 1,255 MW and represents one of the key solar initiatives within the NTPC Green Energy portfolio. Located in Gujarat, the project is being developed in phases to enable systematic capacity additions and efficient execution.
Installed Capacity Update
Following the commissioning of this 243.66 MW tranche, the commercial operational capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited group has reached 7,645.675 MW. With this addition, the group’s overall installed capacity has increased to 7,889.335 MW.
The commissioning reflects continued progress in the expansion of renewable energy assets within the NTPC Green Energy group and contributes to the scale-up of solar power capacity in the country.
