Paras Defence and Space Technologies Limited has formalized a key defence collaboration by signing a Technology Transfer and Licensing Agreement with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The announcement was made through a regulatory disclosure dated November 26, 2025.

Agreement Enables Indigenous Production of Driver Night Sight Technology

Under the agreement, DRDO will transfer its Driver Night Sight technology to Paras Defence for use in the T-90 main battle tank platform. This technology will enable the company to manufacture advanced optical systems designed specifically for armoured vehicle operations, marking a step towards strengthening India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.

Paras Defence confirmed the development via an exchange filing, stating that the engagement supports the broader mission of enhancing locally sourced defence-grade imaging solutions.

Strengthening Self-Reliance in Critical Military Systems

The collaboration not only reinforces the strategic relationship between Paras Defence and DRDO—an integral arm of the Ministry of Defence—but also supports India’s ongoing push toward defence self-sufficiency under the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat frameworks.

The Driver Night Sight system is a crucial component in modern battlefield mobility. It enables tank crews to operate safely and effectively during night missions or low-visibility environments, significantly improving situational awareness and tactical readiness.

Regulatory Disclosure and Governance Compliance

Paras Defence reported the agreement under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements, ensuring transparency in corporate communication. The disclosure was formally approved and signed by the company’s Managing Director, Munjal Sharad Shah.

Summary

Paras Defence’s licensing agreement with DRDO marks a strategic milestone in boosting India’s capability to manufacture advanced night vision systems for defence platforms. The technology transfer will support the localized production of key optical equipment for the T-90 tank fleet, further enhancing India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem and operational self-reliance.
