Thermax has announced a significant international contract valued at ₹580 crore, awarded by Nigeria-based Dangote Industries—West Africa’s largest industrial conglomerate. The order is linked to Dangote’s refinery and petrochemical mega-complex, one of the most ambitious energy infrastructure developments in the region.

Order Scope: Boilers, Systems and Turnkey Support

As per the company disclosure, the scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, and supply of utility boiler systems along with integrated plug-and-play units. The contract also covers:

  • Project management
  • Engineering and procurement
  • Fabrication of boiler modules
  • On-site technical assistance during installation and commissioning

Thermax stated that the award reflects Dangote Industries’ continued confidence in its engineering capabilities and experience in delivering large-scale industrial solutions.

A Growing Global Partnership

The collaboration between the two organisations dates back to 2017, when Thermax received a landmark $157 million contract for steam generation systems for the same refinery. Since then, the Indian engineering firm has continued to support upgrades, commissioning, and maintenance activities at the site.

Dangote Group Founder and Chairman Aliko Dangote acknowledged that the renewed engagement reinforces a longstanding relationship built on reliability, performance, and shared operational milestones.

Summary

Thermax’s ₹580 crore order from Dangote Industries strengthens its global footprint in energy infrastructure solutions. With its continued role in the Nigeria refinery project, the company further reinforces its engineering credibility and long-term partnership with one of Africa’s most influential industrial groups.
