HG Infra Engineering, in partnership with Kalpataru Projects International, has emerged as the lowest bidder (L-1) for a significant metro infrastructure project in Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation awarded the contract to the joint venture (JV) for the Thane Integral Ring Metro Project.
Project Overview
The JV will construct a 20.527 km elevated metro viaduct stretching between the UG Ramp and Balkum Naka. The scope of work includes:
- Depot approach viaduct construction
- Three special spans to navigate challenging terrain and urban structures
A metro viaduct is an elevated structure designed to carry metro trains safely over roads, rivers, uneven land, or other obstacles.
JV Shareholding and Contract Value
- HG Infra Engineering: 40% stake
- Kalpataru Projects International: 60% stake
- Total contract value: ₹1,415 crore
- Completion timeline: 36 months
