Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), the Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, announced fresh orders worth ₹592 crore since its last disclosure on September 29, 2025, further bolstering its FY26 order book.
Diverse Order Portfolio Across Defence and Technology Segments
The newly received contracts span a wide range of defence and strategic technology systems, including:
- Tank subsystems and overhauling
- Communication and combat management systems
- Ship data networks
- Train collision avoidance systems (Kavach)
- Laser dazzlers, jammers, upgrades, spares, and associated services
These projects highlight BEL’s growing role in advancing indigenous defence manufacturing and digital infrastructure.
Steady Flow of Contracts Through FY26
This latest order announcement follows BEL’s previous disclosures of:
- ₹712 crore in orders on September 16, 2025, covering IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, blockchain platforms, and electronic warfare systems.
- ₹644 crore worth of contracts on September 1, 2025, for communication and electronic systems.
With these successive wins, BEL continues to maintain strong business momentum across defence and civilian technology domains.
Q1 FY26 Performance Reflects Strong Operating Efficiency
In its Q1 FY26 results, BEL reported a 5.2% year-on-year revenue growth to ₹4,417 crore, slightly below estimates of ₹4,812 crore.
However, EBITDA surged 32.2% YoY to ₹1,240.4 crore, beating expectations, while EBITDA margin expanded sharply to 28.1%, compared to 22.3% in Q1 FY25.
The improved margins were driven by a favourable product mix and operational efficiency gains, reinforcing BEL’s profitability outlook for the year.
Outlook
With a robust pipeline of defence electronics and homeland security projects, BEL remains well-positioned to sustain revenue growth and margin expansion through FY26, supported by strong order inflows and India’s continued focus on defence indigenisation.
