MOIL Ltd, India’s largest state-owned manganese producer, reported its highest-ever production in September at 1.52 lakh tonnes, marking a 3.8% year-on-year increase, driven by enhanced mining and drilling activities.

Quarterly Performance

For the July–September quarter (Q2 FY26):

  • Production: 4.42 lakh tonnes (+10.3% YoY)
  • Sales: 3.53 lakh tonnes (+18.6% YoY)

Exploratory Drilling

  • September drilling: 5,314 metres (+46% YoY)
  • Quarterly drilling: 21,035 metres (+4.1% YoY)

Chairman & Managing Director Ajit Kumar Saxena highlighted that the growth across production, sales, and drilling demonstrates MOIL’s focus on operational excellence and long-term sustainability.

MOIL, formerly Manganese Ore (India) Ltd, operates under the Ministry of Steel and manages 11 mines across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The company contributes approximately 40% of India’s domestic manganese output, a critical raw material for steel production.
