PNC Infratech Ltd has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) worth ₹495.5 crore from the Bihar State Road Development Corporation (BSRDC) for a major infrastructure project. The project involves the construction of a high-level bridge and approach road along the Hathouri-Atrar-Bavangama-Aurai Road, spanning a total length of 21.3 km.

Project Details

  • Contract Type: Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC)
  • Project Scope: Construction of a high-level bridge with approach roads
  • Total Length: 21.3 km
  • Completion Timeline: 1,095 days (3 years)

The project award is a standalone EPC contract, with no interests held by PNC’s promoters or group entities in the awarding authority, ensuring transparency and compliance with regulatory norms.

Strategic Significance

The project reinforces PNC Infratech’s strong presence in the road and bridge infrastructure sector. It is expected to improve connectivity and transportation efficiency in Bihar, supporting regional development and economic growth.

Additionally, this contract demonstrates the company’s ability to manage large-scale EPC projects, enhancing its portfolio of ongoing infrastructure assignments.

Diversification Move: Jaiprakash Associates Acquisition

Separately, PNC Infratech has received approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for its proposed acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL), currently under insolvency proceedings.

Under this plan, PNC will acquire 95–100% of JAL, either directly or through a special purpose vehicle (SPV). JAL operates in the cement and power sectors, representing a strategic diversification opportunity for PNC beyond roads and highways. The acquisition is expected to complement PNC’s EPC expertise and expand its capabilities into allied infrastructure sectors.
