New Delhi, September 12: Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (AHEL) has announced two major developments — the acquisition of IFC’s 30.8% stake in Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd (AHLL) and the establishment of a comprehensive oncology unit in Gurugram.

IFC Exit from AHLL

Apollo Hospitals will acquire 30.8% stake held by International Finance Corporation (IFC) in AHLL for ₹1,254.07 crore in an all-cash transaction, at ₹301.09 per share.

  • Following the deal, Apollo’s stake in AHLL will rise to 99.42%.
  • AHLL reported a turnover of ₹1,553.5 crore in FY25.
  • The company said full ownership would allow for a sharper allocation of capital and a greater focus on high-potential healthcare segments.

Oncology Expansion in Gurugram

Alongside the acquisition, Apollo Hospitals announced an investment of ₹573 crore to set up a state-of-the-art oncology facility in Gurugram.

  • The unit will be part of a 500-bed hospital, scheduled for completion in FY29.
  • It will feature advanced technology including the Single Gantry Proton Proteus One System, marking the third proton therapy installation in India after Apollo’s centers in Chennai and Hyderabad.
  • Apollo said it aims to double its oncology therapy revenues to ₹5,000 crore within the next three to four years.

Strategic Significance

The acquisition of IFC’s stake consolidates Apollo Hospitals’ ownership in AHLL, ensuring greater operational flexibility. Meanwhile, the Gurugram oncology facility underscores the company’s focus on expanding specialized care, particularly in precision cancer treatment, as part of its long-term growth strategy.
