Morning-outlook-12aprilNIFTY:

Nifty opened at 17740.90 with a gap down of 44 points. The index continued its bearish movement, moved down towards 17650, and found support there. Prices have bounced up, and kept on moving higher with minor dips in between and recorded its intraday high at 1779.05 and found strong resistance There A sharp decline from that high brought prices to its intraday low at 17650.95 and finally closed at 17674.95 with a loss of 109.40 points or 0.62%down.

OIL GAS,MEDIA, and REALTY sectors have outperformed today and ended with a gain of more than 1%.The IT sector underperformed today and ended with a loss of more than 1%. PHARMA and AUTO closed almost flat today. We are recommending the same trade for tomorrow as well. Look for a buying opportunity on a breakout above 17850.In case of a gap up above17850, look to buy above the first 15 minutes of high But if the index did not go up then we should look for a shorting opportunity on a breakdown below 17600.In case of a gap down below 17600, look to sell short below the first 15 minutes of low. Keep a stop of 110 points and a target of 240 points from your entry price.

BANK NIFTY:

Bank Nifty opened at 37591.75 wit h a gap down of 207 points. The index recorded its intraday low at 37524.45 within the first five minutes of trading and then started moving on the upside. Prices have recorded its intraday high at 37941.75 in the afternoon and moved down. The index came close to its early morning lows and finally closed at 37645.75 with a loss of 153 points. PSU and PVT BANKS both have performed almost same today, saw an intraday decline and ended wit h loss of 0.44% & 0.29% respectively. Within the index, in terms of points, ICIC IBANK contributed the highest while HDFC BANK contributed the lowest.

The index Since the short-term trend is up so the sharp move should come on the upside. However, a close below the support 37300 may resume the downside correction. As of now, we should look for buying only.

NEWS UPDATES

  • Tata Motors is looking to ramp up the production of electric vehicles as demand continues to outpace the manufacturing activity by a huge margin, according to a top company official. The Mumbai-based automaker, which led the passenger electric vehicle space in the domestic market in last fiscal year, has been receiving an average of 5,500-6,000 bookings in the past two months for its EV range. The company sells three electric products — Nexon EV, Tigor EV and XPRES-T — in the domestic market. It has also recently unveiled a coupe style SUV which it plans to launch in the next two years.
  • Buoyed by the success of its recent film ‘The Kashmir Files’, India’s homegrown media company Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEE) has decided to go full throttle on its movie production business, housed under Zee Studios. The company, which released 23 films in the financial year ended March 31, is looking to more than double that to 48 in the current year and is eyeing revenues of Rs 2,000 – Rs 2,500 crore from the movie business alone, said chief financial officer Rohit Gupta.
  • Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Monday said it has commenced bookings for the all-new version of its multi purpose vehicle, XL6, from the Nexa retail channel. The model comes with next generation K-Series engine, advanced transmission, array of sophisticated comfort and convenience features, and bold styling, the auto major said in a statement.
  • India’s fuel demand rose 4.2% in March compared with the same month last year, data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) of the oil ministry showed on Monday. Consumption of fuel, a proxy for oil demand, totalled 19.41 million tonnes. Sales of gasoline, or petrol, were 6.2% higher from a year earlier at 2.91 million tonnes.
