Outlook

NIFTY:

NIFTY opened at 16933.25 wit ha gap up of 91 points. The index initially went down nearly 100 points, filled the gap, and recorded its intraday low at 16839.25. Prices found support there and then started moving on the upside. Minor dips were quickly bought into and the index kept on moving higher to record its intraday high at 17375. The index rose more than 500 points from its intraday lows to finally close at 17352.45 near its intraday high with a gap in of 509.65 points or 3.03% up. All the sectoral indices have closed wit h a gain of more than 2% today except PHARMA which gains 0.79%.AUTO,BANK, FINANCIAL,AND IT led the bulls today.

The short-term trend is sideways now and the volatility is very high since the Volatility Index ‘INOIA VIX’ is still moving above level 20. Trading in volatile markets almost always leaves us with a lot of whipsaws so we should avoid trading in such an environment. We should now wait for prices to stabilize and forma range. Till then avoid trading the index. The index recorded its recent swing highs around 17640.This level should act as a resistance. Back to back wide range days may lead the index to a few narrow and choppy days.
